Objective

  • Identify the ringing feedback frequency band.
  • Cut the correct band until feedback stops.

Round Structure

  • A game ends after 10 scored round completions.
  • Between rounds, feedback appears after a random delay (about 2 to 6 seconds).
  • After a PASS, the next round starts after about 3 seconds.
  • Each round selects one target EQ band and a target cut amount between 2 and 12 dB in 0.5 dB steps (at least 0.5 dB beyond the current cut).

Win Condition (Per Round)

  • Round is completed when your cut is within the accuracy threshold of the target.
  • Completed rounds are scored.

PASS Rule

  • Pressing PASS stops the current feedback.
  • The game shows the correct answer briefly.
  • The next round is randomly selected (not requeued).
  • Passing does not count as a scored completion.
  • Because passed rounds return later, total attempts can exceed 10.

Pause / Resume

  • Pause stops all audio and freezes gameplay progression.
  • Resume continues from the paused state.
  • If paused during active feedback, the same round resumes.
  • If paused during waiting time, the pending delay resumes.

End Game

  • End Game immediately stops all audio.
  • Round progress and score state are reset.

Scoring

  • Final score blends accuracy (70%) and speed (30%).
  • Accuracy is based on average error relative to the 12 dB max target.
  • Speed uses average time per completed round, capped at 8 seconds.
  • Only completed rounds contribute to score metrics.

Audition Behavior

  • Boosting a band above the audition trigger activates that band's audition tone.
  • Audition tone remains until the slider returns to zero.
  • Audition tones are muted while paused and do not resume until the slider is moved.
